When people talk about throwing pottery, they generally mean the process from the time the clay touches the wheel to the time the wheel is stopped. In this more general (and most commonly used) sense, throwing is the entire activity of shaping the clay on the potter’s wheel.
Join us for a pottery wheel demonstration and the opportunity to test your skill at bowl making, either with the wheel or by hand. Air dry clay will be provided, so you can keep the treasures you create. Pottery will be available to purchase with all proceeds benefiting the MooseWood Nature Center.
When: Try your hand at pottery on Saturday and Sunday, and August 28th and 29th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
Where: MooseWood Nature Center
Audience: All ages are welcome. Youth under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. Just watch the throwing of clay or join in and give it a try!
Don’t want to get your hands dirty? Pottery will be available to purchase with all proceeds benefitting the Center.
It is recommended that masks be worn if you are not vaccinated. Masks are optional if you are vaccinated. This fun event will be held outside adjacent to the nature center.
