Photography Workshops Offered-

When: Saturday, August 21st

This photography workshop is open to photographers ages 11 years and older.  Photographers are invited to bring their own digital camera or phones with cameras to the workshop.  A $10 donation is suggested. 

Introduction to Nature Photography: 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

This workshop is designed to familiarize the beginner photographer with essential techniques to get you out shooting. Basic rules of composition, shutter, aperature and ISO and how they work, finding subjects, and when to shoot will be discussed in this 1.5 hour worksphop. Participants will observe and photograph birds, flowers, insects and landscapes in the area along the bog walk and dunes at Presque Isle Park. Registration is required and limited to 10 participants. Working with Lighting in Small-scale Photography: 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The use of artificial lighting can greatly enhance the appearance of small object photographs. This 1.5 hour workshop allows participants to play with lighting positions, colors, intensities, and backgrounds in photographing a variety of small objects. Topics will include depth of field, shadow reduction and enhancement, backlighting, and glare reduction. Participants should have either a digital SLR camera or quality phone camera with close up capability.
