Meet A Beekeeper

Sunday, June 9th at 11:00 am.

Join us for a wonderfully “sweet” time as local beekeeper, Sue Payant shares her love of honey bees. The program will begin with a reading of the book, If I Could Sit on a Bee’s Knees…, by Charlotte Hubbard. A honey bee craft will also be provided.

What tools do beekeepers use? Hive tool, smoker, cap and veil, suits, gloves, and bee brushes. Some of these tools can be “tried on” for a real hands-on experience. And as an added bonus, live honey bees will be on site in a demonstration hive-you won’t want to miss this! Suggested age range: 5-8 years old, but all are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

To support the nature center, suggested donations are $5/child or $10/family. Registration email: moosewoodnc@gmail.com. Registration is not required, but appreciated.
