Marquette Art Week Pottery Demonstration on Presque Isle Park

Saturday, June 29, Noon – 3:30pm, MooseWood Nature Center

When people talk about throwing pottery, they generally mean the process from the time the clay touches the wheel to the time the wheel is stopped. In this more general (and most commonly used) sense, throwing is the entire activity of shaping the clay on the potter’s wheel.

Join us for a pottery wheel demonstration and the opportunity to test your skill at bowl making, either with the wheel or by hand. Pinch pots can be made by younger visitors. Don’t want to get your hands dirty? Pottery will be available for sale with proceeds benefiting the nature center.
