Making Shiitake Mushroom Logs

Saturday, October 4, 1:00-3:30 P.M.

$5 per 2-foot log

Participants will inoculate hardwood logs with shiitake mushroom spore plugs. The fungus slowly permeates the log over the next year or two and, when conditions are right, edible mushrooms blossom from the log. Suggested for ages 8-adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
