Guided Bog Walk

Saturday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m.

Volunteer naturalist, Tiffany Rantanen will lead visitors on a walk along the bog walk loop trail on Presque Isle Park on Saturday, July 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Along the way, we’ll learn about the bogs formation and its interesting plant and animal life. In the bog, we’ll look for the carnivorous pitcher plant, orchids that may be in bloom and be on the lookout for wildlife or signs of their presence. Through a fun wetland activity we will explore the characteristics of wetlands and their importance to wildlife and humans.

A $5 donation or $10/family is suggested for this program.

Meet at the Presque Isle Bog parking lot. Easy walk with some sand. Dress appropriately, there could be bugs. For more information please email moosewoodnc@gmail.com or call 228-6250.
