Grow Your Own Mushrooms

Saturday, October 28, 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Participants will be registered in half hour blocks. Meet at MooseWood Nature Center.

Do you love mushrooms? Use your own hands to create next year’s crop of shiitake mushrooms in this activity. Participants will inoculate a pre-drilled oak log with fungus, seal the log and take it home to await a yummy feast. 

Suggested for ages 8-adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult. To support the nature center, suggested donations are $5/child or $10/family. Registration email: moosewoodnc@gmail.com. Registration is required by Monday, October 23rd.
