Maple Sugaring Demo

**Due to the recent health concerns related to the Coronovirus, the Maple Sugaring Demo is being postponed. We hope to reschedule this program sometime in April. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our program participants. We encourage you and your family to spend time in nature allowing nature to recharge your spirit and your soul. **

Maple Sugaring Demo

Saturday, March 21, 2020

10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Stoney Hollow Sugarbush will show visitors how to identify maple trees, a little history of syrup making, and how technology has changed the way we gather sap over the centuries. Visitors will learn how to tap a tree and how the sap is boiled down to make fresh, warm maple syrup. Childrens crafts, up-close nature, and other activities will be available inside the nature center during the event. Maple syrup will be available for “tasting” along with bottles for purchasing to enjoy at your breakfast table.

This is a great, family outdoor winter experience. Small groups or clubs are welcome to attend.

Suggested donation: $5 per adult or $10 a family. Your donation supports future programs like this one and helps the nature center provide year-round interpretation and envrionmental programs to the local community and its many visitors.

Have you enjoyed a recent program, event or birthday party at MooseWood? If so, please consider a donation or sustaining membership in support of what we do. Can’t give today? Consider a volunteer position. Daily feeders and nature center greetors are currently needed.
